2018 Midterm Draft Rankings

  1. Rasmus Dahlin, D

What’s to say about Rasmus Dahlin that hasn’t already been said? I don’t like having NHL comparables for potential because it sets unreasonable expectations but Karlsson’s name has been thrown around a lot for both style and potential. There is no doubt in anyone’s mind that he is an eventual Norris candidate.

  1. Andrei Svechnikov, R

Best forward in the draft, can use his large frame to muscle his way through traffic to put the puck in the back of the net. Great offensive zone IQ like his brother, but his speed and net front presence is what separates him from others, especially at this age.

  1. Adam Boqvist, D

Probably one of the safest picks of the draft, like his fellow countryman Dahlin, Boqvist is a good puck moving defenseman but can also play a sturdy, grinding, defensive game. He’s a fast thinker that proves well for both his offensive and defensive play.

  1. Brady Tkachuk, L

Makes his brother look like a Lady Byng candidate, Brady plays with a big edge and isn’t afraid to throw around his 6’3” and 200 lb frame. Solid both in both ends of the ice and enjoys to get into the corners and fight for the puck. Definition of a power forward.

  1. Filip Zadina, R

Has been seamlessly adjusting to North American style of play. Has both smooth skating and good playmaking ability that he uses to win games. Has a great feel to the game and has been doing well this season with the Mooseheads.
